Merry Christmas!

It was really a good day for sledding last Wednesday. I took my old toboggan to “Big Top” in Lincoln Park. I positioned it at the top of the hill, sat down and grabbed the side ropes. As I sat there, I began to wonder if this was a wise thing to do, when all of a sudden, my little grandson came from behind and gave me a big push. Before I knew it, I was halfway down the hill. I considered rolling off but I decided to ride it out. The hill was super icy, and I don’t recall ever going so fast. I got to the bottom and couldn’t stop. I shot right onto the frozen creek and was able to turn to the right so I wouldn’t hit the creek wall on the other side. The creek only increased my speed, and I ended up halfway into the tunnel that runs under 3rd street. There was a little “homeless” tent pitched in there and I came to a stop almost in front of it. A big guy with a bushy black beard and a furry parka walked up and looked down at me. He just stood there and stared at me while I collected my senses. He pulled a bible out of his pocket and began reading and preaching in a loud voice. Let me tell you, I have a hard time getting up from a sitting position under normal conditions, so I just sat there and listened. He said he was a prophet and he said, “I knew you’d come here today.” He put the Bible back in his pocket and looked me right in the eye. “Are you saved?” I said, yes. He said, “Do you know Jesus is coming soon to ‘catch up’ all those who believe that He died for their sins and rose again on the 3rd day?” I said, “Yes, I do!” Then he told me to tell all my family and friends this Christmas. I said I would. He extended a hand and helped me up. I began pulling the toboggan back up the frozen creek. I had to pee so bad! Then I heard my grandson shouting, “Grandpa, Grandpa!”

I woke up, turned on the light and waddled to the bathroom. It was one of those dreams that seems so real you just have to share it.

Merry Christmas my good friends!
